  • 2-4 tablespoons milk or cream adjust for desired consistency

Method
 

  1. Preheat & Prepare Pans: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your cake pans.
  2. Mix Cake Batter: Cream together butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture.
  3. Color & Flavor: Divide batter into bowls. Add cocoa powder, fruit puree, or food coloring for different layers.
  4. Bake: Pour batter into pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Make Frosting: Beat softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add milk to reach desired consistency. Color frosting if desired.
  6. Assemble & Decorate: Frost cooled cake layers, adding frosting between each layer. Cover the whole cake with frosting and decorate with sprinkles or fruit.
