Ingredients

  • 1 can 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional Add-ins:
  • Chocolate chips
  • Toasted coconut
  • Pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon
  • Maple syrup drizzle or icing
  • Crushed graham crackers
  • Sprinkles

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Small bowls (for butter and cinnamon-sugar mix)
  • Pastry brush (optional)
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.
  4. Flatten each triangle slightly to ensure it wraps around the marshmallow completely.
  5. Dip a marshmallow into melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
  6. Place the marshmallow on the wide end of a dough triangle.
  7. Wrap the dough around the marshmallow, pinching all seams shut tightly to seal.
  8. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining buns.
  9. Optional: Brush the tops with extra melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  10. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving—the centers will be hot and gooey!

Notes

  • Seal the dough well around each marshmallow to prevent leaks.
  • Use flavored marshmallows for a fun twist.
  • Make it festive with Halloween-themed sprinkles or candy eyes after baking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temp or 4 days refrigerated.
  • Reheat in microwave (10–15 sec) or oven (300°F for 5–6 min).
  • These buns freeze well—wrap individually and freeze up to 1 month.
