Ingredients
  

  • 1 block of papelón about 1 cup of syrup
  • 4-5 fresh limes depending on size and taste preference
  • 4 cups of water divided into hot and cold water
  • Ice cubes optional, for chilling
  • Lime slices for garnish, optional
  • Fresh mint leaves optional, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Make the Syrup: Break the papelón into pieces and dissolve it in 1 cup of hot water over medium heat, stirring until fully dissolved.

  2. Juice the Limes: Squeeze the juice from 4-5 fresh limes into a bowl.
  3. Mix the Drink:In a pitcher, combine the papelón syrup, lime juice, and 3 cups of cold water. Stir well.
  4. Serve: Add ice cubes to chill. Stir again and taste. Adjust sweetness or tartness if needed.
  5. Garnish (Optional): Add lime slices or mint for extra flavor and serve.

Notes

  • Adjusting Sweetness: Depending on your taste preference, you can add more or less papelón syrup. If you want a sweeter drink, use more syrup; if you prefer it less sweet, reduce the syrup or increase the lime juice.
  • Chilled Option: For an extra cool refreshment, store the Papelon con Limón in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the drink to become extra refreshing.
