Activate Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk, honey, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
Mix Wet Ingredients: Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture. Whisk to combine.
Form the Dough: Add 2 cups of flour and mix well. Gradually add remaining flour and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead: Knead for 8–10 minutes by hand or 6–8 minutes with a stand mixer until the dough is smooth and elastic.
First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape Loaf: Punch down dough. Roll into a log and place seam-side down in a greased 8x4-inch loaf pan.
Second Rise: Cover and let rise again for 35–45 minutes until dough crowns over the edge of the pan.
Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake for 30–33 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reads 200°F (93°C).
Cool: Brush hot loaf with melted butter. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Wait at least 1 hour before slicing.
