Ingredients

  • 12 Creamette Lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey your choice
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg for binding the ricotta
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Large pot for boiling noodles
  • Large skillet for cooking meat
  • Mixing bowls
  • Spoon or spatula for stirring
  • Aluminum foil
  • Oven

Method

  1. Cook the Noodles: Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the Creamette Lasagna noodles and cook according to the package instructions (about 8-10 minutes). Drain and lay flat to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Meat Sauce: While the noodles cook, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Stir in marinara sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Ricotta Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer three lasagna noodles on top. Add a layer of ricotta mixture, followed by mozzarella cheese and a spoonful of meat sauce. Repeat two more times, finishing with a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  5. Bake: Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite side salad or garlic bread.
